Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to join our team as an Onsite Observer/Construction Administrator. This role requires a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a comprehensive understanding of commercial construction. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring project success through onsite observation and efficient construction administration.
Key Responsibilities:
-Conduct thorough onsite construction observations to ensure compliance with architectural plans and specifications.
-Prepare detailed observation reports with clear and concise written communication skills.
-Review and process shop drawings, pay requests, and change orders in a timely manner.
-Respond promptly and professionally to contractor requests for information.
-Facilitate and contribute to pay/progress meetings to maintain project momentum.
-Collaborate with project stakeholders to uphold the highest quality standards and resolve construction-related issues.
-Utilize construction management software, including PRZM, Procore, eBuilder, etc., to streamline project processes.
-Navigate and manage construction documentation forms such as those from the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the Illinois Capital Development Board (CDB), and other relevant authorities.
Qualifications:
-Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and a genuine passion for the construction industry.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel for effective communication and documentation.
-Previous experience in onsite observation/construction administration within the architectural or engineering field is advantageous.
-Familiarity with construction management software is a plus.
-Ability to adapt to a paperwork-intensive role and maintain meticulous records.
-Comfortable negotiating various physical elements, such as lifts, scaffolding, ladders, etc., to access all areas of construction sites.
-Willingness to travel to project sites and attend meetings as required.
